Yes it is that time of year again as the Church Representation Rules remind us:

‘In each parish of the Church of England there shall be held not later than 30th April the Annual Parochial Church Meeting’. As Easter falls quite late this year, and it is preferable to avoid the APCM in Lent or Holy Week, that does not leave much time to fit the meeting in.

As I have said before, I have never liked the idea of separating the business of the church from its worship – indeed it could be argued that worship is our main business. Our annual meeting this year will therefore again be held within our evening worship on Sunday 28th April at 6.30pm. Whether you are standing for election to office or not the APCM is a good time to come both to reflect on the year gone by (2018 in this case) and to look forward to the challenges ahead. Can I encourage folk who usually attend only the morning services to come along to the APCM this year.

There will be vacancies for service on the PCC; might God be calling you to serve in this capacity? Please speak to the Rector or one of the churchwardens if you want to know more.

In order to vote at the APCM you need to be on the church electoral roll. May I remind you that this year we are required to carry out a complete revision of the roll. If you haven’t already done so you need to complete an application form.  New (White) Forms are available in church.

We do hope to see many of you there and hope you will stay to enjoy fellowship together afterwards in the Brass Crosby Room.
